A Great Place For A New Beginning

Tubman Education Center provides a place for new beginnings for all students through positive learning experiences.  Our students will learn today, so that they may lead tomorrow.  We believe that in order for our students to succeed, they must come prepared to learn.  TEC students must...
  • bring the following with them everyday - paper, pencils, and all textbooks issued to them by their home school.  Students will not be permitted to enter the school building without these materials.
  • follow the dress code.  TEC students wear black bottoms (pants for males and skirts/pants for females) and white collared shirts/blouses.
  • avoid being absent and tardy.  Regular attendance is required.
For a complete list of policies and procedures, please refer to the Tubman Education Center Student Handbook 2009-2010.

Deborah Shepherd, Principal of TEC's Alternative Program

Welcome to Tubman Education Center!  As you begin your time at Tubman, it should be with anticipation of the new experiences that will be yours.  All teachers, administrators, and other support personal assigned to the center have one common goal - success for ALL students.

You, the student, are the most important part of this center.  Be honest, carry your fair share of the load, and above all, apply yourself to the task at hand.  It is my hope that your time at Tubman will be used to effectively evaluate and improve your academic and behavioral concerns.

My expectations will be high, but they will not be unreasonable or unfair.  No matter how difficult you might find some of the challenges at Tubman, the future holds even greater and more difficult ones.  If you leave Tubman well prepared, it will make those future challenges much easier to meet and overcome.
